FitSM® Foundation Certification Training

Course 1280

  • Duration: 1 day
  • Exam Voucher: Yes
  • Language: English
  • 7 PMI PDUs
  • Level: Foundation

In this FitSM Foundation training course, you’ll learn to implement the foundations of effective IT Service Management (ITSM) processes using Fits — a concise, lightweight, and achievable ITSM standard. FitSM is designed for professionals who wish to be quickly recognised for having the competencies needed to implement effective ITSM processes — without delving into the intense detail of other frameworks.

ITSM is the de facto standard most organisations use to manage IT and streamline Information Technology activities into customer-facing services. Initially, the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) provided the core guidance using a Best Practice for organisations to fulfil this purpose. However, with very few exceptions, only a few processes are adopted, mainly in customer interfacing IT support.

FitSM Foundation Training FAQs

FitSM is a free and lightweight standards family to facilitate service management in IT service provision. The FitSM standard and associated certification scheme are maintained by the ITEMO (IT Education Management Organisation) FitSM working group. The FitSM standard was initially developed through the FedSM Project, funded by the European Commission.

FitSM is designed to be compatible with ISO/IEC 20000-1 (requirements for a service management system) international standards and ITIL. The FitSM process model, requirements, recommended activities, and role model targets a lightweight implementation. Equally, it can be applied as a first step to introducing full ITSM, i.e., applying ITIL good practices and achieving compliance against ISO/IEC 20000-1.

  • Create a clear, pragmatic, lightweight and achievable standard for effective IT service management (ITSM).
  • Offer a version of ITSM which is more accessible for a broader range of environments than traditional ITSM solutions, including federated scenarios.
  • Provide solutions that can be efficiently implemented in organisations ranging from SMEs and start-ups to large enterprises.
  • Define an achievable baseline of ITSM effectiveness that can be expanded if necessary.

  • FitSM® training and certification is designed for all professionals providing and delivering IT services.
  • Past attendees of ITIL training who are interested in learning a more flexible framework in which to apply the principles of ITIL.
