This Introduction to Power BI Training will give you all the skills you need to jump-start your Power BI journey. It discusses in depth the industry-recognized steps from raw data to detailed analysis via five main stages:

Introduction to Power BI Training FAQs

There are no prerequisites for attending this course. However, it is recommended that participants have basic knowledge of Excel and data analysis.

The Introduction to Power BI Training Course is available in two delivery methods: in-person and online. In-person training is conducted in a physical classroom, while online training is conducted virtually through a video conferencing platform.

This course covers the following topics:

  • Power BI Overview
  • Transforming Data
  • Creating a Data Model
  • Visualizing Your Data
  • Introduction to DAX, Calculated Columns, and Measures
  • Collaboration and Sharing

Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in hands-on exercises that will reinforce the concepts covered in the course.

Throughout the course, you will access data from various data sources and create Reports using the in-built visuals. You will also be shown how to format those visuals for maximum effect and how to import custom visuals to extend your reporting capability. 

You will gain an introduction to the M and DAX languages and then publish your masterpiece to a workspace in the Power BI Service, creating Dashboards, sharing Reports and Dashboards with colleagues, and concluding with scheduling a data refresh.

The software and licenses used during the course will only be available for the duration of the training. However, participants will be provided with a Power BI license for a period of time after the training is complete.

By the end of the course, participants will have the skills necessary to load data into Power BI from a variety of sources, transform data using DAX, M, and Power Query languages, create and extend a comprehensive data model, visualize data in Power BI desktop using built-in tools, and share and collaborate with the Power BI service or Power BI server.

Participants will also be able to create interactive visualizations to deliver business insights and extract business intelligence by using DAX, M, and Power Query.
