SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Training for Business Intelligence

Course 134

  • Duration: 4 days
  • Labs: Yes
  • Language: English
  • Level: Intermediate

In this SSIS training course, you gain the skills to improve business intelligence capabilities by automating complex migration tasks and auditing the success or failure of migration processes. In addition, you will learn to transform data among heterogeneous data sources — such as text files, Oracle, Access, XML, ODBC, and OLE DB — and effectively and securely manage data migration across various platforms.

Additionally, in this SSIS training course, you’ll gain the skills to migrate and transform data with SQL Server Integration Services. You learn to solve data management problems by creating dynamic packages for migrating, processing, and reporting on data for business intelligence. Specifically, you learn to deploy packages to an SSIS server, assemble tasks to perform complex data migrations, and enhance package functionality with scripting.

SSIS Training for Business Intelligence Course FAQs

This is an intermediate-level SQL training course. We recommend some knowledge of relational databases management systems, programming concepts, and SQL language prior to taking this course.

Microsoft Integration Services is a platform for building enterprise-level data integration and data-transformation solutions. You use Integration Services to solve complex business problems by copying or downloading files, sending e-mail messages in response to events, updating data warehouses, cleaning and mining data, and managing SQL Server objects and data. The packages can work alone or in concert with other packages to address complex business needs. Integration Services can extract and transform data from various sources, such as XML data files, flat files, and relational data sources, and then load the data into one or more destinations.

SQL Server developers, administrators, and analysts who need to migrate and transform data among diverse platforms.

It is essential for organisations to securely manage data migration among a myriad of platforms to enhance their business intelligence capabilities. In this course, attendees learn to leverage SQL Server Integration Services to extract, transform, load, and integrate data from various sources. Typical participants include database developers and analysts who need to migrate data among diverse platforms. In addition, database administrators who need to manage Integration Services packages stored on SQL Server and database professionals working in mixed DBMS environments such as Oracle, Access, and SQL Server will benefit from this course.

Most tasks in this course can be accomplished with no programming. However, you will learn to use programming to extend the capabilities of SSIS even if you have never programmed before. The course will give all the necessary information to complete the exercises.

SSIS is one of the components of Microsoft's Business Intelligence platform. The other two consist of Reporting Services and Analysis Services. SSIS allows you to migrate data for decision support purposes. Once migrated, you can analyse data with Analysis Services, and reports can be built using Reporting Services.

You'll be given remote access to a preconfigured virtual machine for you to redo your hands-on exercises, develop/test new code, and experiment with the same software used in your course.
