This DevOps Foundation® (DOFD) Certification training introduces DevOps, the cultural and professional movement that stresses communication, collaboration, integration, and automation to improve the flow of work between software developers and IT (Information Technology) operations professionals. Improved workflows will result in an improved ability to design, develop, deploy, and operate software and services faster. Likewise, improving the ability of IT to produce software faster improves the ability of the business to deliver value to customers faster.

The course includes an extensive collection of basic DevOps terms and concepts and highlights all aspects of DevOps (people, processes, and technology). In addition, it addresses the organisational change aspects of adopting a DevOps culture. Finally, the training reinforces learning through practical hands-on assignments.

To maintain the certification's value and integrity, all candidates must attend approved DOI (DevOps Institute) classes through one of the DOI REPs (Registered Education Providers) to be eligible to sit the exam.

DevOps Foundation Training FAQs

If you envision a DevOps Adoption or Transformation Effort, the training journey for the DevOps Department will involve follow-on job-role competency training. This DevOps Institute Foundation Certificate is a pre-requisite for those practitioner-level courses.

ICAgile’s DevOps Training Modules are more technical, involving more hands-on programming and testing.

This course provides 16 PMI (Project Management Institute) PDUs (Professional Development Units) (Although DOI has not currently been issued an official code to submit for PMI PDU credit, you can submit for credit successfully by way of the "Other" category at the PMI website. Essentially, 1 PDU credit per hour of instructor-led training. So, in the case of the DevOps Foundation, 16 credits would be applicable.)

DevOps Institute certifications expire two years from the date earned and must be renewed before that expiration date. For an individual’s first DevOps Institute certification, 30 CEUs are required to maintain an active certification. For individuals who hold more than one DevOps Institute certification, an additional 6 CEUs will be required for each additional certification.
